Join us for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with the Cleveland Comedy Awards 2025 Rookie of the Year, Elliot Jarrous!

Elliot is a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian and writer from Cleveland. He won Rookie of the Year at the 2025 Cleveland Comedy Awards, and was nominated for “Best Male Comic” in Cleveland Scene Magazine. Elliot has opened for headliners like Kiry Shabazz and Molly Kearny, performs at Don’t Tell Shows across Ohio and beyond, and runs his own showcase in the basement of one of the Midwest’s most illustrious hot dog stores. He is a big fan of the band Oasis and vintage Levi’s 505s.

Elliot is bringing an all-star line-up of comics with him to Canton, and we are thrilled to announce the show will feature Dezhawn France, Q Tatum, Tabitha Jones, Zivan Vasquez, TJ Maclin, and Jessi Sisson!

Join Canton Comedy Boom for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with co-headliners, John Brown and Carter Dockerty, and the lovely Jo Rou will be your host for the evening! 

John has been a good friend of ours since the very beginning and we are always excited to get him back on our stage, and this time he’s bringing two incredibly talented friends with him. 

John Brown hails from Akron, Ohio and has a laid back delivery, combining observational humor with story telling and a touch of his herb-induced daydreams. John has won best of fest awards at Rubber City Comedy Festival (2024), Cleveland Comedy Festival (2023), and was a finalist at the Loons On The Lake Comedy Festival (2023). He went from his first open mic to headlining at Funny Stop Comedy Club and is a regular feature/host at the famous Hilarities in Cleveland. John has opened for comedians such as George Wallace, Zoltan Kazsas, and Brooks Wheelan. This up and coming rust belt comedian is one that you don't want to miss and will surely be telling your friends at work about the next day.

Carter Dockerty is just a kid from Akron, Ohio who started comedy in 2019 at Funny Stop Comedy Club. Winner of Funniest in Cincinnati 2022, Carter was an emcee and feature act at Go Bananas Comedy Club while he attended Miami University. He then made his way to Chicago where he became a regular at Zanies and Laugh Factory and began touring with Jordan Jensen. Carter is an awkward 24 year old who is just trying to figure it all out. His comedy consists of talking about his dick and his opinions. And most of his opinions are about his dick.

Jo Rou is one of the funniest people we know, and we’re thrilled to bring her back to Canton. Jo is an actor, filmmaker, and comedian focusing on the offbeat and subversive. She has written and starred in videos that have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, Huffpost, Glamour, E! Online and is a former performer at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Her comedy pilot, I Adore Dolores, won "Most Outrageous" at the Orlando Film Festival, premiered at Denver Series Fest, and was accepted into the Gotham Film Institute as a part of their episodic development lab. She has also worked for The Onion, Saturday Night Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jo is also “queer AF” and one of CCB’s favorite people.

About the Instructor:
Marissa Leonino Lange has been performing and teaching improv for over 20 years. She trained at the iO Theater in Chicago and has participated in festivals and workshops including Chicago Improv Festival and Funny Women Festival. Marissa has performed with Uncle Elaine in Chicago, Washington Improv Theater in Washington, D.C., Imposters Theater in Cleveland, and Just Go With It in Akron. While studying at Oberlin College and Conservatory, Marissa was director of Sunshine Scouts and co-founder of the Oberlin College Improv Conference, the largest annual comedy event on campus. Marissa has also auditioned for television and film in Los Angeles.

Join Canton Comedy Boom on Saturday June 14 for our second annual Very Queer Comedy Show!

This very funny, very queer variety show follows the fourth annual Stark Pride Festival, taking place in downtown Canton the same day. Queer in Canton has put together another amazing celebration full of music, guest speakers, food and drink vendors, and family-friendly activities right here in the heart of downtown Canton. The festival is free to attend and we heartily recommend you check out the Pride Parade! 

Canton Comedy Boom was founded with the mission of creating space for underrepresented voices at our shows, and it has been an absolute pleasure to see a community of creative, kind, and hilarious human beings grow over the past two years in Canton. Our goal for Pride this year is to bring diverse perspectives and comedy styles to the stage, and to provide a safe, inclusive performance space to showcase some of our favorite comedians.

The show will be hosted by the lovely, talented and hilarious Chloe Jackson and Joe My Gosh, and will feature Autumn Carper, Monica Hager, Murr, D’jaay BrownJohnson, Cutti Massaro, and comedy burlesque!

Chloe Jackson is “really dumb but in the best way.” She is from Youngstown, Ohio but that’s not the joke. You can catch her putting together crazy variety shows through her production company, Youngstown Queer Talent, which highlights queer entertainers and helps expand safe spaces.  Chloe is also 2 years into doing Trivia A-Go-Go, a crazy trivia show that’s anything but trivial and has recently expanded into the Cleveland area. Chloe was instrumental in bringing Pride back to Youngstown. You can also catch her sick  breakdancing moves behind Sheetz on Saturday nights.

Rumor has it Joe My Gosh was once a contestant on American Ninja Warrior. Others say they’ve been walking the Earth for over a thousand years, spreading chaos and glitter wherever they go. The truth? Nobody really knows where Joe came from—but what we do know is that they’re a queer icon in the Pittsburgh drag scene.

Known for their campy performances, heart-winning humor, and a presence that can only be described as “divine, unhinged excellence,” Joe has snatched trophies, devoured microphones, and left audiences screaming (in the good way). When asked about their greatest accomplishment, Joe simply said: “Meeting Chloe.”

Enjoy an interactive comedy experience featuring performers who will spontaneously create scenes based on audience feedback. Brain Farts Royale is an improv troupe featuring comedians and actors from the Stark County area and we are thrilled to offer them our stage for the evening! The group includes several seasoned stand-up and improv performers including Eric M Simons, Bob Watson, Andrew Burge, Trevor Scott, and Gabe Lavictoire. And they love to invite performers from other troupes and theaters.

Live at Arcadia is an after-hours showcase hosted by Canton Comedy Boom and friends. Each week comedian Eric M. Simons works hard to book an eclectic cast of comedic talents from all over northeast Ohio and beyond!

Arcadia Grille Downtown is a long-standing establishment with a historic ambiance and an attentive staff. Kyle and Ashley will keep the kitchen and bar open during the show. The menu features classic Italian dishes including soup, salads, subs, and pastas in addition to mouthwatering chops, steaks, and salmon. Arcadia offers a full-service bar with cold beers on tap and a creative cocktail menu.

Join Canton Comedy Boom for a night of hilarious stand-up with Wild ‘N Out star, Mope Williams and comedian, Ree Ledbetter! One night only! Saturday May 31st. Two shows: 7pm and 9pm. 

Known for his performances on Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out, Mope Williams has catapulted into the entertainment industry and is rapidly making his mark with his multitalented, high-energy performances. Mope discovered his passion for comedy on the stage at the Laughing Skull Lounge, where his animated stage performances left the crowd begging for more. He’s featured or headlined at the Comedy House, the Stardom, Comedy Zone, Laff Lounge and many more. Mope has extensive training in improv and exploded onto the national stage when he joined the cast of Wild 'N Out. His stand-up special and his “Janitor” free-style have become viral sensations.

Comedian Ree Ledbetter is one of the up-and-coming stars of the Detroit comedy scene. She’s been entertaining audiences at venues across Michigan, including Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, One Night Stan’s and every dive bar in between. Her quick wit, off-the-wall perspectives, and extremely likable presence have made her a fan favorite wherever she performs.

Join Canton Comedy Boom and Kill Tony Golden Ticket winners, Enrique Chacon and Jack Shaw for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy! One night, two shows on Friday, May 30th.

Enrique Chacón is an Austin-based stand-up comedian with roots in El Salvador. He made his debut on the Kill Tony podcast in 2018, earning a golden ticket on his first appearance. Since then, he has become a regular performer at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership. Enrique has opened for renowned comedians like Dave Attell, Chris Distefano, and Tony Hinchcliffe.

Marcus Monroe is an award-winning comedian based in New York City. He has headlined comedy clubs across the country and is a regular at the famous Comedy Cellar in New York City. He is the recipient of the prestigious Andy Kaufman Award and has recently appeared on The Late Show, HBO, MTV, and ABC. The New York Times has selected Marcus’s show as a NYT critics’ pick four times and calls Marcus “one of the most entertaining performers to watch in New York City.”
