Back to School: Teachers Doing Comedy
Join us on Saturday Sept. 20th for Back to School: Teachers Doing Comedy, a one-night-only comedy event where the teachers become the class clowns!
Each of these comedians is either a current or former educator, and they’re trading in their pencils for punchlines. Expect hilarious tales from the frontlines of education—from awkward parent-teacher conferences, to rogue Zoom classes, cafeteria chaos, and sex ed. These teachers have seen it all... and now they're telling all!
Your headliner for the evening will be nationally touring comedian, Sam Salem.
Once a midwesterner, Sam is now an LA-based comedian known best for fitting in with the youth (read: making up Gen Z slang for his students). When Sam isn't headlining at clubs and theaters throughout the U.S., he's creating online videos featuring his uniquely laidback comedic voice, reaching more than 100 million views across platforms. As a result, his comedy has been featured on EllenTV, iHeartRadio, and in national commentary on SportsCenter. Perhaps his most impressive feat, Sam faces his toughest audience when he's not on stage: high school classrooms.
The show will also feature Cleveland-based comedians, Autumn Carper and Sara Short, and Marv Conner.

Join Canton Comedy Boom on Saturday, October 4th for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with Jo Rou and friends!
Jo is an actor, filmmaker, and comedian focusing on the offbeat and subversive. She has written and starred in videos that have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, Huffpost, Glamour, E! Online and is a former performer at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Her comedy pilot, I Adore Dolores, won "Most Outrageous" at the Orlando Film Festival, premiered at Denver Series Fest, and was accepted into the Gotham Film Institute as a part of their episodic development lab. She has also worked for The Onion, Saturday Night Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jo is one of our favorite comedians and she’s a pleasure to work with, but don’t let her charm disarm you, she’s a killer on the stage.
Jo is bringing an all-star line-up of comedians and friends with her to Canton, and we are thrilled to announce the show will feature Namit Bhatt, Zach Welch, Kadijah, Tyrone Gaines, and Amy Young.

Join Canton Comedy Boom on Saturday, October 11th for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with the Cleveland Comedy Award’s Comedian of the Year, John Armstrong!
John is a comedian, father, and provocateur who has lived in the best and worst neighborhoods in Cleveland. His comedy is much like his personality: quick-witted and over-the-top. Flowing with charm and charisma, John covers topics like family, politics, and navigating relationships. John has opened or featured for such legendary acts as John Witherspoon, Dave Attell, Ari Shaffir, Ms. Pat, JB Smoove, and Whitney Cummings. John recently won the Performer’s Award and Comedian of the Year at the Cleveland Comedy Awards, and his comedy special, John Armstrong Against the World is available on YouTube.
John is bringing two of Cleveland’s funniest comedians and showrunners, Stephanie Ginese and T.J. Maclin.

Halloween Comedy Variety Show
Join us on Saturday November 1st for a Halloween party like no other! We’ve put together a great comedy variety show for you, featuring an 18+ Halloween costume contest and stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy!
Don your most creative Halloween costume and join us for a night of non-stop laughter and holiday antics! We will giveaway free tickets, merch, and gift cards to some of downtown Canton’s best bars and restaurants as prizes for the contest winners.
Tony Bowers will be our headliner for the evening. Tony is a nationwide comic based in Cleveland, OH. His anecdotal style and boisterous stage presence has garnered him a reputation as a comic on the rise. A family man with an amusing perspective and larger than life personality, Tony keeps audience members from all walks of life engaged and entertained with stories about his family, his time spent living in the ghetto, and notes on relevant culture.
Chloe Jackson will be featuring. Chloe is “really dumb but in the best way.” She is from Youngstown, Ohio but that’s not the joke. You can catch her putting together crazy variety shows through her production company, which highlights queer entertainers and helps expand safe spaces. You can also catch her sick breakdancing moves behind Sheetz most Saturday nights.
The show will also feature Halloween-themed sketch comedy written and performed by Canton Comedy Boom. And lastly, rounding out this smorgasbord of comedic stylings, we will feature improv comedy.. This will be an interactive comedy experience where comedians invent hilarious characters, scenes, and games based on audience suggestions and feedback.
This show truly has something for everyone and we’d love for you to join us at our main stage in the heart of downtown Canton’s Arts District!

Join us on Saturday August 2nd during Canton’s Pro-Football Hall of Fame Week for our second annual Out of Bounds Comedy Showcase, a night of stand-up comedy with some of Ohio’s MVP comedians!
Stark County native, Marcus Martin will be hosting the showcase. Marcus is a two-time Ohio Comedian of the Year whose raw, real, and hilarious storytelling has made him a national crowd favorite. He’s opened for Ryan Davis, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Gary Owen, and his stand-up specials are available on YouTube under “Comedian Marcus Martin.”

Join us on Saturday, July 26th for our Comedy Variety Show, an exciting mash up of stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy!
This high-energy show has something for everyone, with sketch comedy written by Canton Comedy Boom and improv performances by Brain Farts Royale and the Dinner Theater Rejects, who will create hilarious situational humor and character comedy based on audience suggestions. The show will also feature a new episode of The News Room, where we poke fun at the news and current events!
Three of the region’s funniest stand-up comedians will also be taking the stage: Canton native, Eric Talbert, the wild and weird, Andrew Burge, and your headliner for the evening, Tim Cornett.

Elliot Jarrous & Friends
Join us for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with the Cleveland Comedy Awards 2025 Rookie of the Year, Elliot Jarrous!
Elliot is a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian and writer from Cleveland. He won Rookie of the Year at the 2025 Cleveland Comedy Awards, and was nominated for “Best Male Comic” in Cleveland Scene Magazine. Elliot has opened for headliners like Kiry Shabazz and Molly Kearny, performs at Don’t Tell Shows across Ohio and beyond, and runs his own showcase in the basement of one of the Midwest’s most illustrious hot dog stores. He is a big fan of the band Oasis and vintage Levi’s 505s.
Elliot is bringing an all-star line-up of comics with him to Canton, and we are thrilled to announce the show will feature Dezhawn France, Q Tatum, Tabitha Jones, Zivan Vasquez, TJ Maclin, and Jessi Sisson!

Canton’s First Friday celebration for July will actually be on the second Friday due to the first Friday being July 4.
Join us for our monthly First Friday Comedy Night! The show is brought to you free-of-charge by Massouh Printing, but donations are welcome!
Each month we feature a diverse group of comedic talents by booking seasoned comics from all over northeast Ohio and beyond.
The show also features our comedy segment, The News Room where we poke fun at the news and current events!

John Brown & Carter Dockerty
Join Canton Comedy Boom for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy with co-headliners, John Brown and Carter Dockerty, and the lovely Jo Rou will be your host for the evening!
John has been a good friend of ours since the very beginning and we are always excited to get him back on our stage, and this time he’s bringing two incredibly talented friends with him.
John Brown hails from Akron, Ohio and has a laid back delivery, combining observational humor with story telling and a touch of his herb-induced daydreams. John has won best of fest awards at Rubber City Comedy Festival (2024), Cleveland Comedy Festival (2023), and was a finalist at the Loons On The Lake Comedy Festival (2023). He went from his first open mic to headlining at Funny Stop Comedy Club and is a regular feature/host at the famous Hilarities in Cleveland. John has opened for comedians such as George Wallace, Zoltan Kazsas, and Brooks Wheelan. This up and coming rust belt comedian is one that you don't want to miss and will surely be telling your friends at work about the next day.
Carter Dockerty is just a kid from Akron, Ohio who started comedy in 2019 at Funny Stop Comedy Club. Winner of Funniest in Cincinnati 2022, Carter was an emcee and feature act at Go Bananas Comedy Club while he attended Miami University. He then made his way to Chicago where he became a regular at Zanies and Laugh Factory and began touring with Jordan Jensen. Carter is an awkward 24 year old who is just trying to figure it all out. His comedy consists of talking about his dick and his opinions. And most of his opinions are about his dick.
Jo Rou is one of the funniest people we know, and we’re thrilled to bring her back to Canton. Jo is an actor, filmmaker, and comedian focusing on the offbeat and subversive. She has written and starred in videos that have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, Huffpost, Glamour, E! Online and is a former performer at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Her comedy pilot, I Adore Dolores, won "Most Outrageous" at the Orlando Film Festival, premiered at Denver Series Fest, and was accepted into the Gotham Film Institute as a part of their episodic development lab. She has also worked for The Onion, Saturday Night Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jo is also “queer AF” and one of CCB’s favorite people.

The Females of Comedy are a group of talented and creative women hailing from Northeast Ohio. Originally rooted in Canton, this vibrant group has expanded its comedic footprint to include performances in Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron, and Columbus. Their comedy reflects the richness of their collective experiences. From witty observations about work and travel to poignant and ironic moments in motherhood and post-divorce dating, the Females of Comedy illuminate the tragicomedy of life through a distinctly female lens.
