Canton Comedy Boom’s main stage is located in Patina’s Underground Performance Space. Its muraled walls and quirky carpet offer a visually unique and intimate environment that has quickly become a favorite of comics and their fans in northeast Ohio. Our goal was to create a safe, inclusive space to spotlight local comedic talents while providing an unforgettable and entertaining experience for the public.

Since our first open mic here in 2022, dozens of exceptionally talented comics have graced our stage, including Marty Malloy of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, John Armstrong, winner of the Performer’s Award and Best Comedian at the 2024 Cleveland Comedy Awards, and radio celebrities like Mary Santora and Bill Squire.

A new stage and sound system was installed in 2023, and our sponsor, Deli Ohio graciously funded new chairs for our guests. Since then, dozens of shows have been planned for 2024. From standup to improv and sketch comedy, the CCB main stage at Patina is Canton’s only performance space dedicated exclusively to comedy.

Patina Arts Centre

Nestled in the heart of downtown Canton, Ohio, Patina Arts Centre is a thriving haven for artistic expression and community engagement. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it operates as an artist co-op, housing studios and gallery space for resident and guest artists in this historic downtown locale. Patina nurtures Canton’s artistic community through regular exhibitions, a diverse offering of workshops and art classes catering to all ages, and a steadfast commitment to community betterment through the transformative power of the arts.

Alaska Thompson

Canton Comedy Boom would like to give a special shout out to the founder and owner of Patina Arts Centre, Alaska Thompson. CCB may never have come into existence if it hadn’t been for Alaska’s support and her willingness to let us renovate the underground performance space. From the very first comedy show we ever produced, a year before CCB even began, Alaska supported our efforts to bring professional comedy back to Canton. In addition to her tireless efforts to promote the creative community in Canton, Alaska is an exceptionally talented artist. Her artwork often depicts renditions of cosmic structures and galactic imagery. Help us pass the support on and be sure to browse the gallery and studios at Patina next time you come to a CCB show!

Patina Arts Centre does not currently sell hot food or alcohol, but we do sell water and soft drinks, and we permit alcoholic beverages purchased at nearby bars, provided they are served in DORA cups Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding the alcohol policy in the performance space.
